About Velux® blinds
Blinds for Velux® / skylight windows
You can take full control over the amount of light coming through your roof / skylight windows with a choice of roller, pleated or venetian roof / skylight blinds.
If you also have upright windows in the same area, you can co-ordinate the styles and colours of your blinds, perhaps adding some vertical blinds to complement your skylights.
Of our featured suppliers, Hillarys provides all three types of roof blinds and will measure up and fit them within their price. For a DIY alternative, many online blinds suppliers also offer made-to-measure roller blinds that have been specially designed for fitting to Velux® or other skylights / angled roof windows. Some sell genuine Velux blinds, whilst others sell compatible products.
For example, the Web Blinds roller blinds range features more than 70 different fabrics in a range of colours and patterns, from neutrals to bright, colourful designs.
They also feature side channels that stop light from leaking around the edges in the blind and hold it in place.
Skylight blinds can be stopped in any position and used whether the skylight is open or closed, providing you with full control over the amount and angle of incoming light.
Hillarys Blinds offers a choice of around 50 fabrics for skylight roller blinds, which they'll also measure up and fit for you.
These include blackout roof blinds, which can give you a better night's sleep by cutting out early morning light.
For damp environments like bathrooms or kitchens, venetian rooflight blinds are ideal, as they're made from lightweight aluminium, which is not only good for humid conditions, but also nice and easy to keep clean.
For gentle, filtered light, Hillarys' pleated rooflight blinds are worth considering. Fitted with a control wand for when blinds would otherwise by out of reach, they can also be ordered with special fabrics that help you moderate the room's temperature.
These performance backings can help keep heat inside during the winter, whilst reflecting unwanted heat and light in summer months. Pleated blinds for Velux® and other skylight windows are available in nearly 20 different shades and fabrics and come in your choice of two sizes of pleats.
However you use your roof-based room, purpose-made skylight blinds can help you make the most of the space. Benefits include cutting down unwanted glare, reflections and other light-related annoyances, whilst also adding ambiance in your choice of colours and shades.
